Torrey Ward, 36, played college basketball at UAB, where he competed in 110 games with 74 starts and scored almost 800 points during his career. In 2001, Torrey earned a criminal justice degree from UAB. Before becoming a coach, he played professionally in the Chinese Basketball Association. Torrey coached for three seasons at ISU, spending his first two as an assistant and his final season as the associate head coach. Torrey had a huge personality and an infectious smile. He leaves behind three children, Tamia, Torrey and Audrey, fiancée, Johnene Beisel, and mother, Janice Ward.
